Professor Zi Yan is Head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and an RGC Senior Research Fellow. His research centres on educational assessment — in particular formative assessment and student self-assessment — and the application of Rasch measurement to learning. He has been awarded substantial competitive funding, including nearly HK$8 million under the RGC Senior Research Fellow Scheme.
