Who we are
Our teaching revolves around Curriculum, Teaching, Assessment and Teacher Professional Development. Our research addresses teacher development, evaluation of curriculum reforms, pedagogical innovations, knowledge management and school improvement.
Based in the Faculty of Education and Human Development at The Education University of Hong Kong, C&I works across undergraduate teacher education, taught postgraduate programmes and research degrees. We partner with schools throughout Hong Kong and the region.

Message from the Head
Professor YAN, Zi
Head of Department · RGC Senior Research Fellow
Professor Zi Yan is Head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and an RGC Senior Research Fellow. His research centres on educational assessment — in particular formative assessment and student self-assessment — and the application of Rasch measurement to learning. He has been awarded substantial competitive funding, including nearly HK$8 million under the RGC Senior Research Fellow Scheme.
